Through Nepal to Tibet. Around the sacred Mount Kailash

ourney to the sacred in many religions Kailash peak (6714 m) passes through remote, inaccessible and virtually closed to foreigners – lone mountain areas of the Tibetan plateau. This is a real "trip to a decade of" remaining in memory for many years. After exploring the sights of Kathmandu, we are making a spectacular move to cut off from civilization, a Nepalese mountain village Kodari and go on a jeep to the peak of Kailash. The culmination of the route – pass by Buddhist pilgrims (bark), with a caravan of yaks around the mystical mountains, "the center of the universe" of Hindus, Buddhists, Jains and supporters of the ancient Tibetan religion, "Bon."

Day 1

Departure from Moscow, Sheremetyevo-2, Aeroflot regular flights as well.

Arrival in Kathmandu. Meeting at the airport and transfer to hotel. Accommodation and leisure. The program in Kathmandu: a visit to the monastery / Rangjung Yeshe Institute for Buddhist Bouddanatha have one of the largest and oldest Buddhist stupas in the world. If possible – meeting with Rinpoche (Abbot). In the evening – check out the unique monastery of Bon-po on the outskirts of Kathmandu. Meeting with the monks. The whole afternoon with us – a Buddhist lama.

Day 2

On this day, drawn the necessary permission to visit Tibet. We are in the morning, visit the monastery of Copan, located just north Bouddanatha, where they live and train about 450 monks, many of them – ethnic Tibetans. The monastery is famous for its meditation courses for foreigners, which began in the early 1970s. Copan rightfully earned the epithet "spiritual oasis" in Kathmandu. Afternoon free for independent study and enjoyment of civilization before the hard part of the Tibetan route.

Day 3

Early in the morning – on the "serpentine", departing in the foothills of the Himalayas to the Tibetan border. Arrive at the border village Kodari and hike on the "Friendship Bridge" in Tibet. Easy track (45 minutes) up the hill from the border post before the first settlement of Zhangmu. (Note: The road broken and dirty. Part of the way, you may be able to get to the back of a truck). Meeting with a local guide and driver-Tibetan. Hotel accommodation in Zhangmu, a brief rest. Visiting the Monastery: here feel that the time can really stop.

Day 4

Long-moving jeep to the village of Saga. Along the picturesque fields sown with barley, the road goes ever higher into the mountains for the first 5000-Pass Nome, where turning to the majestic mountain lake Tso Pake. Along the way, may stop: a temple built on the site of the caves of Milarepa (about 10 km. North of the village of Nyalam, the road post 5333 km.), Passes on themselves, in a small Tibetan villages. The real life of Tibetan people, fantastic scenery – all that we see with our eyes. Crossing by ferry across the Brahmaputra at the end of the day we get into the Saga (4600 m). In the evening a little better than a walk in the fresh air – most likely will affect the high altitude.

Day 5

Parng. In the middle of the day – stopping in a semi-abandoned village of Old Dzhongba. Examination of a small monastery, the walls of "money" and the mountains of skulls yak carved with mantras. Impression is very strong. Overnight in a mountain village Paryang shelter.

Day 6

Manosarovar. Moving to an unusually picturesque gorge through the mountain pass to the main space of the Tibetan plateau. The road passes by the beauty and wonder of the sacred lake Manosarovar. Visiting the monastery hanging on a cliff on the shore of Manasarovar Chiu.

Day 7

Departure of an unusually picturesque gorge through a small pass in the amazing beauty of the lake "dead water" Raksash Tal (4590 m). Track near the lake. Drive to Darchen (4560 m), the village at the foot of the sacred mountain. The field of short walks – a further move to Tarboche (4750 m), which begins 53-kilometer track (bark) around Kailash.

Day 8

With a caravan of yaks – the track to the monastery of Dera Phuk, founded in the XIII century and is located on the west side of Kailas. Accompany the group on track, "helpers", a Tibetan mountain guide and a caravan of yaks.

Day 9

The track to the monastery Tsutrul Phuk (4790 m) mountain pass through Drolma La (5630 m), which is associated with a large number of religious texts. Lifting a heavy, tough and requires considerable physical effort. Down the road passes by one of the highest lakes in the world – Thukpe Dzingbu.

Day 10

Go to Darchenu (about 2:00), parting with a caravan of Tibetans. Holidays.

Departure early in the morning to ferry across the river Yarlung Tsangpo (Brahmaputra) and the subsequent relocation to the shores of the picturesque alpine lake Pake-Tso and the pass of La Lung-la (5124 m) to Zhangmu, a small town on the border with Nepal. Great views of Himalayan peaks accompany us all today. A brief stop in the village of Nyalam: from here the road descends steeply down the serpentine. In Zhangmu – the best hotel accommodation in the city, rest. Examination of a small local monastery. Farewell to Tibet, Tibetan guide and drivers.

Day 14

In the morning – access to the Tibetan-Nepalese border. Hike on the "Friendship Bridge" in Nepal, at the border village Kodari. Meeting with the Nepalese accompanying, transfer to Kathmandu hotel in level 4 * accommodation and well-deserved rest. In the evening – a farewell dinner in Kathmandu at a restaurant of national cuisine.

Day 15

Before lunch – free time in Kathmandu. Transfer to the airport and departure from Kathmandu.

Day 16

Departure from Delhi by regular flights of Aeroflot. Arrival in Moscow, Sheremetyevo-2.

The price includes:

accommodation in cities in hotels 3 * 4 * in two double rooms, a small Tibetan settlements, and while the crust – the best available accommodation in mountain refuges,
