Stop the Demography of King
By S Green
If I said, “let us take caution,” I would be accused of weakening the spirit of the movement. So I am not going to ask myself to be cautionary in 24-hour participation wherever it is from in the movement of ending the tyrannical autarchy of the King. I can even close my eyes for a moment in dealing with the Maoists, which I can assure myself that it will be done in time. I must, together with the many others, shed off the cynical view about the ground leaders’ past errors, at least in respect of the real fighters, who are pejoratively called “supporters.” There are a few who continue to speak against the cashing of Umesh Thapa’s brutal killing by the royal gun of Gyanendra, but this is a moment we should respect life and pay tribute to his sacrifice and recognize him as a national hero, though posthumously, and translate our “fury” into energy in our attempt of iconoclasm of the King.
Time and again, I have said that the idea of King has become an epidemic. It has spread to other people, particularly the so-called leaders of all political spectrum. In the course of our attempt to finish this king, we must work toward terminating the very desire of becoming a king in every one of us: there must be a law, both social and judicial, to abandon this desire by calling it the dark side of human being. Let us take a lesson from America how it has been able to eradicate “Nazism” and “Communism” from its social and judicial rainbow: like these terms, the term “King” must become invalid and a felony in our new constitution precisely because “King” or “monarchy” carries an automatic assumption of remaining above the law and people. Making the term “the king” illegal is a way of the eradication of family heritage, eradication of bourgeois ideology, cronyism, under-meritism, corruption, and all kinds of the ills of the society. In a way, making the king illegal is binding and networking everyone within the law. We are talking about a disciplined democracy: freedom with a strong sense of law and good governence. So let us work toward not just ending one King but whoever falls within the demography of King.
Let us remember that as long as Moists are there, the present King will continue to live, and Umesh Thapa’s sacrifice will be betrayed. So let us pay true tribute to all the disinterested souls like Umesh Thapa’s by eradicating the monarchy, its offspring the Maoists, and the demography of King that still is obsessive with the desire of becoming a king of some sort, whether in the village committee or in the parliament.

Yes. You correctly pointed out the desire to be the king plagues the land of Gautam Buddha. I agree with you about ending the demography of King. That is the source of people not helping their fellow Nepalis too. So long as this desire to rule, to be better off exists the country will continue in the current state of misery. The desire of everyone must be focused on to making a difference in their own and others’ lives.
Good Work.

i am not quite sure what you are trying to say… you are doing what every other media person in the country does take a issue and link with some other issue and try to create a propganda out of it. respect his existence dont defile his death. you talk about poitics and abolishing monarchy. you talk about standing for democracy, but what does democracy truly mean. i have seen country go to the dogs in the past ten years of the so called democractic existence and i see it go down the hole today. the system that you are fighting for ..will eventually later crush you. the system uses you and throws you. you tell me your democratic freedom…define one explain and compare it with the existing parables.
i see the future of the country down in the streets burning and fighting while they should be studying and working towards a unified state. what do you think is going to happen once all the chaos and anger is gone and done with? what about the whole education disparity, what about the economy. the people in power will remain in power, no ones going to change that…. you think they are going to think about you… wake up….you call yourself nationalists.. the obejctive of the nationalist is to work for the better of the state so that the people can be better off…..think before you act it’s a request don’t do it because everybody does it.

Well said Green. That is what will create a fourth front, and that is today’s requirement for Nepal and Nepalese existence.
